A Long Road Away
Coming Fall 2006 -
A Long Road Home is the story of both Samuel and Maure Doolin and is touched by the exodus of Irish immigrants. It is the telling of an Irish a mother and her children, a wife and her husband. It is Maure Doolin and the Cailleach, the Irish woman from the past whose position in life is to assure the continuation of Irish Life, no matter what it cost of others, husbands or children, to insure that Ireland lives on.
The Saga of Maure Doolin is set in the secluded mountains of Virginia, on the beaches of the Gulf Coast, and in the social pubs of Ireland. It is a story of dedication to traditions, to legacy, and to the love of man or woman for country. It is a story of the respect and fear of all that still lives in Ireland, even today , but is only whispered where those truly of the sod can hear. Maure, with Samuel, shows and shares what is real and lives the story that, they know, will never be at rest.
A Change of Seasons

Coming January 2007 - Samuel and Maure Doolin were blessed with three children, Fountain the oldest, Petesy, the girl of the family, and Zed, the youngest. Fountain is the protagonish of he now popular novel Fountain’s Glory.
Mary Lisa, or Petesy as she is known, didn’t care about being raised in a rural life. How much do teen-aged girls care when their only responsibility is to do what someone tells then to do, and then, only what is expected of them. That was not Petesy, but there she knew her role and understood what was going on— always someone to take care of her. Time would change that.
A Change of Seasons is Petesy’s story, but it is also a story of the pride of the earth, the social mores of southern existence and the changes that take place in all people. It is the story of living through seasons, of taking the best of each of them, and discovering anew and even better today. |
